Meet Mumford
Mumford is a loving, people-focused dog who truly wants to be part of a home and stay close to his family. He enjoys being around his humans, follows them from room to room, and is happiest when he has companionship.
Like many dogs who are still learning boundaries and impulse control, Mumford can get overstimulated in certain situations. When he becomes too worked up, he has shown that he may nip so he needs an adopter who understands the importance of structure, calm leadership, and reading canine body language. Any children in the home should be older and able to respect his space and boundaries.
Mumford can become pushy or frustrated around meals and will try to steal food from other dogs if given the opportunity. Because of this, he needs separation during feeding. He is food-motivated, which can also be a great tool for training when used appropriately.
He would do best in a single-family home rather than an apartment, where he has space, routine, and a consistent environment. Mumford will require multiple meet-and-greets to build trust and ensure a strong, successful match with his future family.
With the right home—one that is patient, structured, and willing to continue his training—Mumford has a lot of potential. He is a dog who bonds deeply.
