Meet Rosita
Rosita is a young dog that grew up in the shelter system. She was found as a stray under a year old. We saved her from a county euthanasia list because she was deteriorating in a large system.
Rosita is a perfect example of a true rescue case that will need time, patience, love, and understanding to reach her full potential. She has enjoyed being around other dogs but has lived with a cat temperately in her foster home. She would do best in an adult-only home, or with older kids that understand dog body language and when it's best to observe instead of approach.
She’s silly, playful, and full of personality — especially when she has a confident dog friend by her side. Rosie thrives in a home where she can play, decompress, and just be a dog.
Rosie shows affection on her terms, and when she trusts you, it’s incredibly special. She communicates in true cattle dog fashion — with happy boops and gentle nips — so she’s best suited for an adult-only home that understands her breed and respects her boundaries. A confident, social dog companion is a must and helps Rosie feel secure and confident.
While we are working on leash skills, Rosie may be the kind of dog who’s happiest staying close to home with a fun playmate rather than going on adventures. People are not her safe place yet, so she is a flight risk and will do best with owners who prioritize secure environments and don’t expect off-leash outings.
The good news? Rosie is fully potty trained using a dog door, does well with calm, respectful cats, and is wonderfully adaptable when it comes to sleeping arrangements. She can sleep comfortably in a large kennel, her own room, or free sleep once she’s learned your home routine.
Rosie is a truly great dog — playful, loving in her own way, and endlessly loyal to her people and canine friends. She just needs the right home to continue blossoming into the amazing girl she already is 💕🐶
