Meet Rosita
Rosita is a young dog that grew up in the shelter system. She was found as a stray under a year old. We saved her from a county euthanasia list because she was deteriorating in a large system.
She can be shy and reserved upon first meeting but once you give her time to relax and know you, she is very sweet and loves to run and play. She is working on her leash skill but still very fearful and would do best in a home with a secure back yard for potty time and continued practice walking with a leash and harness. Because she is nervous and scared of most people upon meeting, she is considered a flight risk as she would be unlikely to approach naturally if she got loose.
Rosita is a perfect example of a true rescue case that will need time, patience, love, and understanding to reach her full potential. She has enjoyed being around other dogs but her experience with cats is unknown. She would do best in an adult-only home, or with older kids that understand dog body language and when it's best to observe instead of approach.
If you're interested in meeting Rosita in foster care, please fill out an application.
