Hi, I’m Flounder. I came very close to losing my life, but an amazing foster stepped in and gave me a second chance. I’m still learning that the world can be a safe place. People make me nervous right now and I tend to freeze and avoid eye contact when I’m scared. New environments can feel overwhelming, so I’ll need a quiet home with a steady routine to help me feel secure. Deep down, I’m a sweet boy who wants love and connection… I just need time, patience, and gentle one-on-one support to get there.
I’d do best in a calm home without kids, with someone who is around often and has a backyard for me while I learn about leashes and walks. I’m still figuring out toys and how to be a dog, but I do love my Kongs—I’ll happily lick one until I fall asleep in my cozy space.

Having my own bed and a safe place to retreat will help me feel comfortable. Please don’t rush me—I need someone who will go at my pace and show me kindness every step of the way.
