- Adopter may return the dog for EXCHANGE of another AZSDR dog of equal value within 10 days of receiving the dog.
- If no other dog meets Adopter’s requirements at the time of return, a credit in the amount of the original adoption fee will be available for one month.
- If the credit is not used within one month, the fee will be considered a donation to AZSDR. NO REFUNDS.
- No. Although our approved foster parents have first rights of adoption of a foster that has been placed into their care, we do not offer foster to adopt to the general public.

- No. We do not place holds dogs, as that dog may lose out on its opportunity to leave the shelter earlier if another potential adopter is intereted.
- If Adopter is unable to keep adopted dog, AZSDR will make all feasible attempts to acquire the dog back into its care depending on space availability and temperament.
- Adopter can contact us to inquire about returning the dog to us.
- No. We require all adopters meet with a trained adoption counselor and the potential animal to ensure a great match for both parties.
- Of course! Our friendly and knowledgeable adoption counselors are available to answer any questions you have, and help match you with your next new family member.
- Yes! We accept all major credit cards. To help offset processing fees, payments made by credit card will be charged an additional $5.00 processing fee at the shelter or $10.00 fee if the payment occurs at an event outside the shelter
- The minimum age to volunteer is 10 years old. For liability purposes, all minors under the age of 18 must have a legal parent or guardian volunteer alongside them.
